Portraits
Today’s portraits have moved on a great deal from the rigid, impersonal portraits of the past. Now portrait sessions are all about the fun and experience, with many portraits now being taken out of the studio and into the environment around you. Think of the many, many different settings around your home that could be used, matching your taste, your style, and somewhere that you feel comfortable.
A pre-portrait consultation with the photographer is recommended, as this will give you the opportunity to discuss your ideas, requirements, and the possible settings/venues for the portrait session. If possible, show your photographer some magazine images which may show the style of photography that appeals to you.
Have to hand, a selection of appropriate clothing at the photographic session, as this will ensure the photographer can provide you with a variety of images. Neutral coloured clothes are generally thought to be the best, and these can be highlighted with accessories, and splashes of colours to add depth and interest. It is best to avoid colours which are too intense, unless of course that is what you want and feel more comfortable wearing.
